Holy Spirit Prep is proposing a campus expansion along Mt. Paran Road. The meeting notice posted on their property is for a community meeting on 10/30 at 6pm where they will tell us more about their plans. The information MPNCA has received has been limited however impacts will be felt not only in Sandy Springs but in the City of Atlanta. They are proposing to move their lower school campus currently located off of Long Island to Mt. Paran between Northside Drive and Jett Road. Our whole community will be impacted. Traffic is already a huge concern in the area. Please try to attend the community meeting. Below is a link that provides an information sheet, proposed site plan and site survey.
Powers Ferry Bridge replacement project
To address congestion issues associated with the detour around the bridge closure, specifically, the anticipated increase in traffic in the Sutton Middle School traffic zone and on Northside Drive, our construction team implemented the following measures:
1. Arranged for increased patrols and traffic enforcement in the affected detour areas, with special attention to the Sutton Middle School traffic zone. As staffing allows, APD Zone 2 will dispatch patrols to the school zone during pick-up and drop-off times to discourage speeding and other reckless driving behaviors.
2. Installed temporary traffic signals at the intersection of Northside Drive and E. Conway Drive to control the flow of traffic in both directions. The signal will remain in service for the duration the closure and detour.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding this project, please email RenewAtlanta@AtlantaGa.gov

HI Neighbors, I know it's been almost a week since someone posted about the bear so I'm hoping he/she has moved on but I was able to get in touch with someone with Game Management in the Wildlife Resources Division for the DNR. They passed on this link: http://bearwise.org/ They told me they are aware of the bear and are tracking it. They said typically they get 1-2 bears that make their way to Fulton County each year. The bears are more scared of us than we are of them and they haven't had a bear attack in GA reported yet. The bears are looking for an easy source of food... bird seed,cat/dog food, people food, etc. They move on pretty fast once the food supply dries up. They are also afraid of loud noises. The DNR told me they usually only come out to get a bear if it's being aggressive or a big nuisance. If this is the case, please call them but other than that, they won't get them because they want them to naturally find their way.
